Mannheim meetings is a co-production meeting place for art house producers, buyers, distributors and sales agents. Participants receive a list of those participating the meetings and request meetings with those that seem most interesting to their own ventures. With those who are most wanted, like TV buyers, everybody naturally wants a meeting from and then they get to choose just who is most interesting for them.
The meetings are then 30 minutes each, quite enough time in order to figure out if there is a common ground to go on from.
Still, the most important meetings take place in the corridors and during the drinks. During a meeting you can establish who you are in terms of your work, but in social events who you are as a person, and in the end, that’s what matters when choosing your co-producing partners.
